The role

We are seeking a commercial-minded and strategic FP&A Analyst to lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes. Responsible for the long-term planning, budgeting and forecast processes. Provide analytical insights to support strategic and operational decision-making by preparing accurate management reporting and driving financial performance reviews. Furthermore, develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to support planning, forecasting, valuation, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making across the business. This newly established role will be critical in shaping Gentoo Media’s financial strategy, driving execution, and ensuring that financial rigor underpins all key business decisions. At Gentoo, FP&A is not a reporting function - it is a strategic capability. You will translate business strategy into clear initiatives, measurable plans, and financial roadmaps. You will connect financial and operational planning so that every budget line has a purpose, and every initiative is properly resourced. Most importantly, you will embed accountability, business acumen, and proactive decision-making across the organization.

What you'll be doing

Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

• Develop long-term financial plans (3–5-year strategic plans).
• Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecasting and monthly reporting cycles across the business.
• Build, maintain and improve financial planning models and templates.
• Consolidate and challenge inputs from the business to ensure quality plans.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, tools and data quality to enhance financial insight and agility.
• Support implementation and enhancement of planning and reporting systems. 
• Enhance and automate financial planning models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Design, implement and own system support for enterprise performance management, planning and consolidation.

Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly management reporting packs with variance analysis (act. vs bud./FC) and insightful commentary.
• Prepare executive-ready reports and presentations for the Board and mgmt.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the CFO and Group.
• Analyze trends, risks and opportunities; provide actionable recommendations to leadership.

Business Performance Management

• Develop, maintain and track operational KPIs aligned with strategic priorities.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses on revenue drivers, costs, working capital, and capital expenditure.
• Actively participate in leadership meetings, providing a finance perspective to support strategic and operational decisions.

Financial Analysis & Modelling

• Build financial models for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and decision support.
• Support investment appraisals and business cases, incl. NPV/IRR calculations.
• Collaborate with BI and data teams to connect models with data sources for real-time updates and reporting.
• Support development of dashboards and visualizations linked to models.
• Coach finance on modelling best practices to uplift overall capability.
• Design standardized modelling templates and ensure best practice modelling standards.
• Prepare and present materials to business leaders, ExCo, and Board as required.

Who we're looking for

• 4–7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, strategy or corporate finance roles – ideally within media, digital or subscription-based businesses.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance management.
• Proven experience in a FP&A or business finance role, ideally within a multinational or fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, long-term financial planning, and performance management.
• Proven track record of partnering with senior leadership to drive strategic decision-making and business growth.

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Advanced PowerPoint, presentation and storytelling skills.
• Experience with ERP, planning and visualization software i.e., Business Central, Jedox, Tableau, PowerBI etc.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strategic mindset.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
